A strategy to grow Scotland's ICT industry

The Information and Communications Technologies Industry Advisory Group, representing a cross section of Scotland’s ICT industry, announced the publication of its new ICT Industry Strategy and Implementation Plan to accelerate the growth of the sector.

The world market for ICT was worth 3.8 Trillion USD in 2008 with a long-term growth rate of 7.8%. The ICT strategy aims to ensure that Scotland gets more than its fair share of this attractive market but international competition is fierce, so a well-coordinated approach between private industry, educational institutions and the public sector is vital.
